Step One: Realize that you are lost in your sin which brings eternal death.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 “ For the wages of sin is death...”
***Lest we not forget that sin's death is eternal in the lake of fire and is an eternal separation from God.***
Step Two: Recognize that Christ died for your sins and seeks to save you.
Romans 5:8 “But God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet, sinners, Christ died for us.”
Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Step Three: Remember that your good works or deeds cannot save your soul.
Romans 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Galatians 2:16 " Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no man be justified."
Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"
Step Four: Respond by coming to Christ and repenting of your sins.
Matthew 11:28“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
John 6:37 “.....him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast him out.”
Luke 13:3 “...except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Acts 17:30 “... but now (God) commandeth all men every where to repent.”
Step Five: Believe and receive Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved...”
Romans 10:9 “ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Now thank God and rejoice because
1 John 1:7 “the blood of Jesus Christ his (God’s) Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Luke 10:20 “...rejoice, because your names are written down in heaven.”
